TypeCon is the annual SOTA conference held in a different host city each summer. This summer, for our tenth anniversary, SOTA takes TypeCon to our hometown of Buffalo, New York. The "Queen City" is full of amazing architecture, art galleries and museums galore, hot indie music (in bars that stay open until 4 am), and regional delights like the Roycroft campus and the Cary Collection at RIT. And let's not forget about those glorious Niagara Falls! Mark your calendar for July 15-20, 2008, and join us for the typographic event of the year. Visit the TypeCon website, where you can get all the scoop on this great conference. Be sure to subscribe to the TypeCon email newsletter and get announcements first!

Close to 500 type lovers attended TypeCon2005, the seventh annual SOTA conference held in New York City last July. NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg proclaimed July 18-24 to be "Type Week" in Gotham as the city celebrated its letter-filled heritage. TypeCon2005 took place at Parsons School of Design in New York, July 20-24, 2005, and was presented by SOTA with the Type Directors Club, in association with the American Printing History Association and Typophile.
TypeCon2004
was held July 21-25, 2004, in San Francisco. SOTA’s sixth annual conference featured a diverse program of presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and special events. More than 60 speakers and workshop leaders participated in the event, which attracted almost 500 attendees from around the world.
