TypeCon2008: Punkt
More than 450 type lovers took part in the activities at TypeCon2008: Punkt, the tenth annual SOTA conference held in Buffalo last summer. TypeCon2008 took place at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Buffalo, July 14-19, and was presented by SOTA in partnership with the Western New York Book Arts Collaborative (WNYBAC), the Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School, the Roycroft Campus Corporation/Roycroft Inn, the University at Buffalo, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Close to 500 type lovers attended TypeCon2005, the seventh annual SOTA conference held in New York City last July. NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg proclaimed July 18-24 to be "Type Week" in Gotham as the city celebrated its letter-filled heritage. TypeCon2005 took place at Parsons School of Design in New York, July 20-24, 2005, and was presented by SOTA with the Type Directors Club, in association with the American Printing History Association and Typophile.
TypeCon2004
was held July 21-25, 2004, in San Francisco. SOTA’s sixth annual conference featured a diverse program of presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and special events. More than 60 speakers and workshop leaders participated in the event, which attracted almost 500 attendees from around the world.
